Thick as Thieves

This past weekend we enjoyed the good company of our friends Jason and Marla.  Sue went to medical school with them and we're lucky that all of us ended up in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Notice how I say "area."

As fate would have it, we ended up in the South Bay while they ended up in the North Bay.  So while we live in the same region, we live far enough apart that we've realized it's worth it to sleep over whenever we visit each other.

"Cousins" in Orange
A long time ago we deigned Cruz and their son, Ethan, "cousins" because at the time neither actually had a cousin.  Ethan still doesn't have one and so thus far the name has stuck.  Cousin Cruz and Cousin Ethan had a grand old time together and despite Cruz being about 7 months his junior.

We attempted to have them "sleep over" with both of them in Ethan's room.  Big mistake.  It was so adorable to hear them talking, giggling and laughing late into the night (at least relatively for them).  But when they started to wake up Whitney we knew it had to stop so they had to be separated, at least temporarily.

The next day we went to the Bay Area Discovery Museum which is nestled near the northern base of the Golden Gate Bridge.  Before we parted ways we let them run around an open field.

While it was coincidence that these cousins were dressed alike the first day, Ethan picked his outfit the second day to match Cruz'.
