Happy Birthday!!!

Today is a special day for Cruz because on this day two years ago, Cruz was born. He has a cadre of friends with birthdays in the late summer so he has been getting a lot of practice with this birthday thing. Yesterday he even added a new word to his repertoire in preparation.

"Happy."

...which of course is short for "happy birthday."

Since Cruz has so many friends with birthdays recently, he's well versed in birthday traditions. For instance, he knows of birthday candles and birthday cakes. So when we he had his breakfast of mini pancakes, he insisted that he blow out candles before he ate them.


However, besides some presents and some mini cupcakes with his Little Gym class, we tried to keep today as normal as possible.

That being said, he did have a regular size cupcake for dessert this evening.

The boy just turned two. It makes perfect sense for him to blow out candles twice.
