All Smiles

I'm happy to report that Whitney doesn't scowl as much as she did in the past. In fact, she can be quite smiley. Right on target she has developed a social smile. Plus, she seems to like words that begin with the letter "B." There's a lot of "buh-buh-buh-baby!!!" being said in the Cortez household now-a-days.


Of course, she isn't so smiley at the moment. Whitney was taken in for a quick checkup because she's developed cradle cap and was also thought to have a mild case of eczema on her cheeks. Astute readers will recall that Cruz also battles with eczema. During the appointment she was happened to be weighed. Whitney comes in at a whopping 11 lbs 5 oz which puts her at the 86%-tile. But since she's just over 6 weeks old she also got her first real set of immunizations. So needless to say, she isn't a happy camper.

All the while, Cruz continues to be an excellent big brother. He's even willing to "get down to her level" and entertain his sister during tummy time.
