First Day of School!

With Whitney recently turning 2 years-old, we decided that it was time to enroll Whitney into preschool.  If you recall, we did something similar for Cruz, partially in preparation for the birth of his little sister, but mainly for the socialization aspect.

So here we are two years later with Whitney. While she loves her time with Rosario, our nanny, Sue and I thought that it was time for Whitney to start going to school to start socializing. Through luck and happenstance Cruz has grown up with a cadre of friends (who are mainly boys, as it turns out). Poor Whitney wasn't so lucky. We know families with girls that were born in the same year, but Whitney is 6+ months older which is huge when that means a quarter of your life. And while she plays well with Cruz and his friends, we thought it best to enroll her into school to make more age-matched friends.

We chose Cruz' old preschool because we really like the play-based philosophy behind it. She also remembers it from back when Cruz used to go there. We also took a similar approach to easing her into it. For a while either Sue, Rosario, or my parents would take her and stay the whole time. But a week ago today was the first time she was actually dropped off.

There were tears when it happened, but overall she did great. And now she's doing even better!
