GOAL!!!

This past Sunday we threw Cruz' birthday party. We had it at the closest park to our house, Blossom Hill Park. Since Cruz was getting more into his soccer classes, he decided that he wanted a soccer theme to his birthday party.

We hired soccer coaches from the company that does his classes and the kids had a blast.  We were a little worried because the party was set outside and we were in the midst of a heat wave.

Luckily Sue had enough forethought to get an extra instant canopy to go with the one we already had.

She was also smart enough to rent some kids' tables and chairs and we placed those in the natural shade.

I actually think that it was quite comfortable, and it wasn't until we were taking everything down and putting everything away that we finally felt the brunt of the heat.

As opposed to last year's cake, this one actually looks at it was intended.  Cruz still laughs about his cake from before.

Cruz definitely had a blast.  What a great way to usher in this new year for him.
