Friends and Firsts

Several weeks ago, Cruz met Zoe who visited us from Toronto (including her parents Sam and Mitch). They were our last guests in San Francisco. We went to the Cal Academy, Discovery Museum in Sausalito and ate lots of Mexican food!
We also went to the Ferry Building for their Saturday morning Farmers Market where we ate more Mexican food! We had lots of fun with our Canadian friends and hope to see them again soon!

Cruz also celebrated an early first Birthday with his playgroup. As you recall from the holiday party blog entry, Cruz is in a playgroup with approximately 14-15 other babies. The babies are all about the same age so we decided to celebrate their birthday's together. There was a pretty good turnout with 11 babies and their parents showing up. Thankfully, we didn't host the party this time.

If you look at the picture above, you'll notice that Cruz' mouth is full of watermelon. Dad got a little carried away with stuffing watermelon cubes in his mouth. So during the picture taking poor Cruz had a full mouth and was drooling watermelon juice.

Later, after Cruz swallowed all of the watermelon, there was a cupcake waiting for him. Now, we don't give Cruz sugary foods so we figured that he would love it. Surprisingly he wasn't all that interested in it. He must have inherited his Lolo's palate.
