As alluded to before, Cruz has been teething. And in typical Cruz fashion, it's not just one tooth that's coming in, but FOUR and maybe even SIX. If the boy is going to do something, he does is all out.
Most new parents will relate to this. Whenever your little one is inexplicably cranky or excessively drooling, the common explanation is "oh, s/he's teething." It doesn't matter if the child is a few months old and at the height of being colicky. Nevermind the fact that the typical child won't teeth until 8 months or so.
But of course, when Cruz was finally actually teething, it took us a little while to realize it.
We had talked before about how Cruz was sleeping through the night. Then, little by little he started waking up at random times in the middle of the night. At first we thought he was sick. Or maybe he was in a growth spurt (another parental favorite for inexplicable nighttime events).
When he started being randomly upset during the day, we finally started putting two and two together.
So now, Cruz has his two front uppers and lowers popping out of his gums and I swear I can see his upper canines as well. He's also starting to sleep better throughout the night and in general back to his general happy self.
(Sorry for the low quality picture, but it's zoomed in and the best one we can find that shows at least his upper teeth. It's hard to capture his "toothy" smile since you need to have a low angle to see it, and he naturally will adjust his head to face the camera.)
