A Boy and his Beach, a Girl and her Camera

Last week we were on vacation. So the next few blog entires will likely review our trips. We began with 6 days in San Diego. Sue had a conference there, which we used an excuse to fly down. The first few days were spent lazily in the neighborhood that we were staying in, including visits to its popular beach, Windandsea.

Cruz has always had a fascination with the ocean and this time only added to it.

He loved watching the waves roll in, playing in the sand...

...and even with some encouragement, dipping his feet into the ocean.

Waiting for the waves to roll in
Whitney, on the other hand, surprisingly didn't take to sand like we thought. She's certainly had experiences with sandboxes and such, but the first few times that she experienced sand, Whitney did not want much to do with it.

Eventually she would play a little bit.

But overall she seemed quite content sitting on the blanket and playing with my camera.

Here's an picture she "took" with the camera. She aimed it and I hit the shutter button.  Sue's sister and her boyfriend, Jen and Chris, drove down from LA to help me with the kids.

Whitney - the next Stieglitz?
