Vancouver Trip (Part 2) - The Water

Vancouver is a beautiful city and my sister-in-law's place took advantage of it:  picturesque mountains in the background while having a waterfront foreground. Jen's building is located in the former 2010 Olympic Village. 

Being so close to the water had many advantages when a toddler is involved.  There are lots of things to see and do...

...lots of giant dock cleats to sit on...

...and lots of bridges to run over.

In fact, Cruz and Whitney got to go on their first boat rides during this trip.  False Creek, as the waterway is known, has two main water taxis, the Aquabus and the False Creek Ferries.  We ended up taking the latter on a trip to Granville Island.

As you can imagine, Cruz absolutely loved the experience.  The Spirit of George McInnis, the first boat that Cruz and Whitney had ever been on, will always have a special place in their hearts.  Well, Cruz' at least.

 

We decided to go to Granville Island for two reasons.  For one, it has a wonderful kid's market consisting of child oriented shops, rides, play areas and even snack shops.  Second, it also has a wonderful public market, which we used to buy some food.
